The Chile Initiative fosters academic and professional connections, supports scholars in the field, hosts international seminars, and enables faculty to create learning opportunities for their students.
The College of Forestry partners with Chilean researchers, nonprofits, and businesses on collaborative projects in the field of forestry, from silvicultural management to ecotourism. Chilean and Oregon State students (undergraduate and graduate) are encouraged to engage in exchange programs at OSU and our partnerships with Universidad de Concepción, Universidad Austral de Chile and Universidad del Bío Bío. In the past, College of Forestry students have participated in internships in Chile focused on the forest industry, ecosystem services, forest restoration and policy, and international trade. Check out photos from previous students' trips on our Flickr page here!
Through the Chile Initiative, the College of Forestry hopes to promote a global, holistic experience for students and researchers alike.
