The CoF Council of Student Organizations is a governing body of the sponsored student clubs and organizations in the College of Forestry. The Council serves to:

Oversee Participation Awards and funding requests for College of Forestry student clubs

All student clubs and organizatiosn sponsored by the College of Forestry are eligible for membership in the Club Council, provided they meet the outlined critera.
Membership Requirements
To maintain active membership in the Council, clubs must complete the following:
- Letter of Intent - Submit a one-time letter of intent to join or remain a member of the council for the upcoming academic year.
- Deadline: 5:00 pm on Week 1 of Fall term (current academic year)
- Annual Summary Report - Submit a yearly summary of club eents and activities, confirming that all membership requirements have been met.
- Deadline - 5:00 pm on Week 10 of spring term (preceding academic term)
- Funding Application - Submit an annual funding application detailing anticipated costs and description of eligible events.
- Deadline - 5:00 pm on Friday of of week 2, Fall term (current academic year)
- Deadline - 5:00 pm on Friday of of week 2, Fall term (current academic year)
Participation Awards
Current Council members in good standing may apply for annual participation awards. These awards support events and activities that:
- Positively represent the College of Forestry
- Provide educational experiences
- Offer professional development opportunities
- Promote membership recruitment
- Advance the mission of College of Forestry student clubs and organizations
Note that funding is not available for general club management or for clubs that are not active members of the Council. Participation funds will not be award to clubs who do not meet requirements and eligibility.
College of Forestry Council Membership Requirements
- All Club Officers are required to complete the IdealLogic training modules.
- Participate in at least 3 CoF/OSU events, including (but not limited t)o the Forestry Career Fair, Annual Ring, Beaver Community Fair, Dean's Office events, and approved club-specific educational activities.
- Engage in at least 1 membership drive per year.
- Engage in at least 1 fundraiser per year.
- Sponsor at least 1 CoF workshop or professional development event per year.
- Attend all scheduled CoF Club Council meetings.
The Council Representatives are elected as officers in their club or organization during the normal election processes. They cannot represent more than one club as the Council Representative, nor hold other officer positions within their club.
The Representatives must:
- Attend and participate in all Council meetings and report on club news and updates
- Ensure that their club or organization is meeting the requirements for membership in the Council
- Work with their club Treasurer, President, and other officers to submit an annual proposal for Participation Awards, letter of intent to join and annual report
